The Bisbee Unified School District Governing Board is seeking to fill a spot on its board after the retirement of one of its board members.

The opening on the board comes after the recent retirement of board member Kym Kennedy, who resigned after serving since 2015. She was elected during the November 2014 election, according to an announcement.

Applicants for the board position must be registered voters, citizens of the U.S., at least 18 years old and possess their civil rights. Applicants must also have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office. Candidates and their spouse must not be employed by the Bisbee Unified School District.

Candidates are asked to include information on their education and work experience and explain why they would like to become a board member. Applicants should also include their mailing address, email and home and work phone numbers. Letters of recommendation can also be included in the candidate’s information.

Residents who are interested in applying for the seat should email a letter of interest along with a resume to Chief Deputy Rose Martinez at rmartinez@cochise.az.gove
