Charleston named Best City in the South for the 4th year in a row
Charleston, South Carolina is once again the No. 1 city in the South, according to Southern Living's South’s Best Awards 2020.
The city has been landing on the top spot consistently for four years.
While the city’s palm trees, arts, and architecture continues to fascinate locals and guests, shops such as Croghan’s Jewel Box (existing for over 100 years), food spots like Little Jack’s Tavern, and the newly opened Hotel Bennett adds to an amazing experience in Charleston.
Savannah, Georgia, Nashville, Tennessee, New Orleans, Louisiana, Austin, Texas, Asheville, North Carolina, Alexandria, Virginia, Atlanta, Georgia, Richmond, Virginia, and Tallahassee, Florida were among the other cities that made it on South Best’s top cities.
"At Southern Living, we're passionate about celebrating the extraordinary experiences that define Southern hospitality," said Sid Evans, editor of Southern Living. "Our goal is to identify the destinations our readers are loving the most right now—places that represent the very best of the South. This year's awards are a unique mix of newcomers and longtime favorites."
