South Carolina Federal Credit Union recently announced that it is accepting applications through Feb. 14 for its 10th annual scholarship program, in which it is offering $50,000 to 12 qualified students.
Students who will be attending a traditional or technical college in South Carolina for the fall 2020 semester are eligible to apply. They should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be a legal U.S. resident and must also be prepared to attend South Carolina Federal’s Scholarship Luncheon and Annual Meeting on April 20.
Moreover, applicants will be asked to write a short essay on how they plan to use their education to do more for others, which is in line with the credit union’s “Doing More Together” approach to personal finance management and community outreach. Essays will be evaluated by an internal committee and external panel of educators and community leaders.
Interested applicants may visit the credit union website for the complete list of requirements and processing of applications.
