The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee (PAC) has endorsed Karl Brady (representing District 5), Angela Black Drake (representing District 1), James Lewis (representing District 3), Bill Moody (representing District 11) and Keith Waring (representing District 7) for election to Charleston City Council.

Each candidate went through a selection process that included an interview with the Chamber PAC members and completed a written questionnaire. Candidates’ perspective on issues such as housing attainability, infrastructure investment, regional planning, transit, flooding and the completion of the Mark Clark Expressway were assessed to determine if they aligned with the chamber’s vision.

“All of the candidates endorsed by the Chamber PAC support a positive business climate and are aligned with the chamber’s pillar priorities: mobility, livability and business climate,” Chappy McKay, Chairman of the Chamber PAC, said in a press release. “All understand the connection between local decisions and the continued economic prosperity of the larger region.”
