Charleston and Greenville among the 'Best Small Cities in the U.S.'


Charleston and Greenville have been named among the top 10 Best Small Cities in the U.S. in Conde Nast Traveler's 32nd annual Readers’ Choice Awards Survey. Charleston tops the list for the ninth straight year, while Greenville earned the ninth spot.

Charleston continues to capture the hearts of travelers with its history, food, culture and beauty. Greenville's impressive collection of farm-to-table food offerings impressed readers most while the 32-acre Falls Park was named as a favorite location to visit in the city.   

The survey included cities with populations less than 350,000.

The top 10 Best Small Cities in the U.S. according to Conde Nast Traveler's 32nd annual Readers’ Choice Awards Survey:

  • Charleston, SC
  • Santa Fe, NM
  • Alexandria, VA
  • Savannah, GA
  • Key West, FL
  • Aspen, CO
  • Monterey, CA
  • Chattanooga, TN
  • Greenville, SC
  • Santa Barbara, CA
This year’s survey had 600,000 participants who voted for their favorite cities in the U.S.
