Tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at the Charleston Cosmetology Institute, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.
South Carolina students paid $17,500 to attend the private for-profit school in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.
Data shows 71 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 48 students received grants or scholarships totaling $144,740 and 39 students took out student loans totaling more than $176,521.
Including all undergraduates (202), 77 students used grants or scholarships totaling $144,740, and 40 students took out $193,418 in federal student loans.
