Duke Energy moves Callahan and Ghartey-Tagoe to new roles

Duke Energy is having a change in executive leadership with Michael Callahan, vice president of investor relations to succeed Kodwo Ghartey-Tagoe as South Carolina state president.

Lloyd Yates, executive vice president customer and delivery operations, and president, Carolinas region, believes that Callahan’s years of experience in Duke Energy have prepared him well for this critical role. Callahan joined the company in 2002.

"In his new role, he will build on the great progress Kodwo and team have already accomplished, and he will continue to advocate for policies and practices that meet the energy needs of our customers and South Carolina in cost-effective, environmentally sound ways," Yates said.

Callahan, a certified public accountant in both North Carolina and New York, will be responsible for the state and local regulatory and government relations in South Carolina and will work closely with the corporate and regulatory strategy team with regard to legislative, rate and regulatory initiatives in the state.

Ghartey-Tagoe will become Duke Energy's executive vice president, chief legal officer wherein he will be the primary legal advisor to the company’s board of directors and senior management.
