Graduates earn 2,143 degrees, certificates from Coastal Carolina University


About 23.2 percent of the 2,143 degrees and certificates handed out by Coastal Carolina University in 2017-18 were to students in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Conway conferred 435 bachelor's degrees and 62 master's degrees in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general business administration and management. Data shows the school gave out 170 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management, followed by 143 bachelor's degrees in marine biology and biological oceanography and 142 bachelor's degrees in speech communication and rhetoric.

The university enrolled 10,663 students for 2017-18, including 9,898 in undergraduate programs and 765 in graduate programs.
