Graduates earn 2,468 degrees, certificates from the College of Charleston


About 26.5 percent of the 2,468 degrees and certificates handed out by the College of Charleston in 2017-18 were to students in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Charleston conferred 587 bachelor's degrees and 68 master's degrees in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general business administration and management. Data shows the school gave out 217 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management, followed by 147 bachelor's degrees in speech communication and rhetoric and 145 bachelor's degrees in general biology/biological sciences.

The college enrolled 10,863 students for 2017-18, including 9,895 in undergraduate programs and 968 in graduate programs.
