Women’s Chamber calls for comment on proposal on certifications
The U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce is preparing a comprehensive review of a Small Business Administration proposal and will be notifying its members and women-owned organizations about its opinion of the best comments to submit.
On May 14, the Small Business Administration’s proposed rule RIN: 3245-AG75 has been published. In summary, the SBA “is proposing to amend its regulations to implement a statutory requirement to certify Women-Owned Small Business Concerns (WOSB) and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business Concerns (EDWOSB) participating in the Women-Owned Small Business Contract Program.”
The chamber notes the significance of paying attention to the proposal and be able to present a well-contemplated response to the SBA. With this, the chamber encourages its member to watch the U.S. House of Representatives Small Business Committee hearing on the proposal which was held on May 16, 2019, and to register to receive updates about the issue.
Comments about the proposal are due on or before July 15, 2019. SBA will post all submitted comments on http://www.regulations.gov/.
USWCC is an authorized third-party certifier for the WOSB - EDWOSB program.
