LTC Health Solutions, Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation, and Prisma were chosen by the Columbia Chamber as March’s Partners of the Month for their collaboration with the Midlands Youth Apprenticeship Program.
The three businesses have apprentices from Richland School District One this semester. The high school students, while being apprentices at the participating businesses, are still able to attend regular high school and college classes through dual enrollment.
The Partner of the Month is selected on the basis of their community involvement, and support in the Chamber’s mission to foster an environment where businesses can prosper in the region.
The apprenticeship program is in its inaugural year, and hopes to help students be ready on their first day of work fulfilling their roles.
Apprenticeship Carolina and Midlands Technical College are partners in this program.
