The Charleston Area Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has added a new office as it extends its coverage area at Berkeley County.

The new SBDC office will be open on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce building in Moncks Corner.

In collaboration with the Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce, the SBDC has consultants who will provide one-on-one consultations to entrepreneurs who want to open a business or expand an existing one. The consultations are free and such sessions are confidential. The SBDC staff members consult with business owners on several topics, such as sales growth strategies, marketing, business plans, and fiscal management.

“At the Charleston Area Small Business Development Center, we enjoy seeing small businesses grow in the Lowcountry,” Tom Lauria, business consultant with the Charleston Area SBDC, said. “Our talented team of business consultants and specialists provides the expertise entrepreneurs need to transform a concept into a flourishing business employing staff; earning revenues and serving customers.”

Consultations are by appointment only and can be made by calling 843-740-6160 or by logging onto their website.
