53 percent of applicants to Voorhees College were admitted for fall 2017


At Voorhees College, 93 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 59 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Denmark enrolled 475 students in fall 2017, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. 8.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

60 percent of undergraduates are residents of South Carolina, and 40 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (96 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (1 percent).

The school admitted 53 percent of the 7,669 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 4 percent enrolled.
