53 percent of applicants to University of South Carolina-Aiken were admitted for fall 2017


At University of South Carolina-Aiken, 85 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 64 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Aiken enrolled 3,506 students in fall 2017, including 3,354 in undergraduate and 152 in graduate programs, data shows. 10.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

85 percent of undergraduates are residents of South Carolina, and 11 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (59 percent) and Black or African American (27 percent).

The school admitted 53 percent of the 3,075 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 35 percent enrolled.
