The Charleston Metro Chamber was among the three finalists for this year’s Chamber of the Year Awards as presented by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
The award recognizes the nation’s different chambers that create an impact in their respective communities. The finalists have demonstrated organizational strength and made an impact on the community’s local sectors such as education, transportation, business development and life improvement.
Selection of qualified Chamber of the Year finalists is not a simple process, either. It requires a rigorous procedure that includes meeting set performance criteria for the ACCE Annual Operations Survey.
“Receiving this acknowledgment is a true testament to the work of our talented staff, volunteer leadership and committed membership,” Bryan Derreberry, Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, said. “We are truly honored to be recognized alongside Louisville and Tulsa as a finalist for this prestigious award. Thank you to each one of our members for your continued investment into the Chamber and the Charleston region.”
Two other finalists under the Metro Chamber category -- Louisville, Kentucky and Tulsa, Oklahoma -- are included and will be celebrated at an event on July 18 at ACCE’s National Convention in Des Moines, Iowa.
