Graduates earn 154 degrees, certificates from Virginia College-Florence


About 75.3 percent of the 154 degrees and certificates handed out by the Virginia College-Florence in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Florence conferred 63 certificates and 53 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Medical/Clinical Assistant. Data shows the school gave out 32 associate's degrees in Medical/Clinical Assistant, followed by 30 certificates in Medical/Clinical Assistant and 26 certificates in Cosmetology/Cosmetologist, General.

The college enrolled 257 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
