Graduates earn 99 degrees, certificates from The Art Institute of Charleston


About 36.4 percent of the 99 degrees and certificates handed out by the The Art Institute of Charleston in 2016-17 were to students in Visual and Performing Arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Charleston conferred 32 bachelor's degrees and 4 certificates in Visual and Performing Arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Web Page, Digital/Multimedia and Information Resources Design. Data shows the school gave out 17 bachelor's degrees in Web Page, Digital/Multimedia and Information Resources Design, followed by 15 bachelor's degrees in Restaurant, Culinary, and Catering Management/Manager and 12 associate's degrees in Culinary Arts/Chef Training.

The institute enrolled 393 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
