Graduates earn 643 degrees from Charleston Southern University


About 26.6 percent of the 643 degrees and certificates handed out by the Charleston Southern University in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Charleston conferred 89 bachelor's degrees and 82 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 65 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 47 bachelor's degrees in Kinesiology and Exercise Science and 41 bachelor's degrees in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration.

The university enrolled 3,616 students for 2016-17, including 3,204 in undergraduate programs and 412 in graduate programs.
