About 31.9 percent of the 276 degrees and certificates handed out by the Converse College in 2016-17 were to students in Education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Spartanburg conferred 60 master's degrees and 28 bachelor's degrees in Education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Psychology, General. Data shows the school gave out 39 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General, followed by 15 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General and 14 master's degrees in Educational Administration and Supervision, Other.

The college enrolled 1,320 students for 2016-17, including 870 in undergraduate programs and 450 in graduate programs.
