About 24.4 percent of the 987 degrees and certificates handed out by the Piedmont Technical College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Greenwood conferred 144 certificates and 97 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 100 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 61 certificates in Gunsmithing/Gunsmith and 58 associate's degrees in Administrative Assistant and Secretarial Science, General.

The college enrolled 4,907 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
