Graduates earn 1,354 degrees, certificates from Winthrop University


About 21.6 percent of the 1,354 degrees and certificates handed out by the Winthrop University in 2016-17 were to students in Education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Hill conferred 162 bachelor's degrees and 129 master's degrees in Education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Data shows the school gave out 178 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General, followed by 65 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General and 64 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General.

The university enrolled 6,109 students for 2016-17, including 5,091 in undergraduate programs and 1,018 in graduate programs.
