Graduates earn 406 degrees from Columbia College


About 24.1 percent of the 406 degrees and certificates handed out by the Columbia College in 2016-17 were to students in Education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Columbia conferred 64 master's degrees and 34 bachelor's degrees in Education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Safety Studies. Data shows the school gave out 70 bachelor's degrees in Criminal Justice/Safety Studies, followed by 52 master's degrees in Education, Other and 31 bachelor's degrees in Speech Communication and Rhetoric.

The college enrolled 1,588 students for 2016-17, including 1,456 in undergraduate programs and 132 in graduate programs.
