Graduates earn 1,551 degrees, certificates from Horry-Georgetown Technical College


About 34.2 percent of the 1,551 degrees and certificates handed out by the Horry-Georgetown Technical College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Conway conferred 530 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 530 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 99 associate's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse and 53 certificates in Phlebotomy Technician/Phlebotomist.

The college enrolled 7,018 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
