Kaylee Swanson, director of group sales for the Columbia Fireflies, recently reflected on her experience as a Columbia Chamber of Commerce diplomat.

Diplomats are volunteers who serve as an extension of the chamber staff throughout the community and provide outreach and assistance to partner businesses throughout the year.

“The Columbia Fireflies pride themselves on being a part of our community via outreach, networking and volunteerism and our staff has embraced it," she said. "When we’re not in the office (or even sometimes during office hours) you’ll find us tutoring students, working as part of a board, participating in a networking event, or even fostering animals."

Fireflies staff members also created a culture club to help create team volunteerism and team building activities.

"When you work together as much as we do (sometimes more than 80 hours a week in the summer) it’s great to know you have a family in Columbia," she said.

Columbia Fireflies season tickets will be available starting April 5.
