Business process company Synnex Corp., innovator of information technology systems, products, design and service solutions, recently revealed that one of its own has earned the Order of the Palmetto Award, South Carolina’s top civilian honor.
Peter Larocque, the president for the company’s North American technology solutions sector, expressed gratitude when he received the award at a Synnex fundraising program event called Share the Magic.
"I am honored to receive the Order of the Palmetto Award," Larocque said. "In addition to making a significant economic impact in South Carolina, my team and I feel fortunate to have made a positive impact on the lives of children and families in need. Each year, we aim to do more, and I look forward to continuing to raise the bar for South Carolina."
Gov. Henry McMaster, attending the occasion, commended Larocque’s approach to broaden community involvement via the fundraising initiative.
"This is a state with a big heart, and I think Peter Larocque has demonstrated that again and again," McMaster said.
Larocque has worked with Synnex for over 33 years. Previously he served on the Make-A-Wish South Carolina board and attained various commendations and honors for his charitable and philanthropic work.
With corporate headquarters in California since 1980, Synnex maintains its U.S. distribution facilities in Greenville County, where it significantly expanded its operations in mid-2015. The firm conducts its annual conference in Greenville, attracting nationwide stakeholders.
