More than 1,000 Aiken Chamber of Commerce stakeholders can now effortlessly connect with customers and clients thanks to www.aikenhasit.com, a breakthrough digital resource launched to bring products and services together with regional end users.
Not just limited to the South Carolina area, the online directory targets a swath of the eastern U.S. starting with South Carolina’s Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) and stretching to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, based on evidence that the national capital area serves as a hub for the cyber industry work force.
Launching a digital marketing campaign this fall, the effort strives to alert regional residents to its presence with a two-fold presence: a paid Google Ad Words campaign; and a social media (Facebook) component. Using selectively chosen keywords and demographic data, the Chamber can advertise Aiken’s benefits, adhering to the theme of billing Aiken as a “great place to Eat, Shop, Live and Play.”
Online traffic demonstrated dramatic results, with usage more than tripling in one month alone according to the chamber. Each chamber member is allotted space for promoting his or her enterprise on the site.
“It is clear that people who are current residents and people outside the market are researching our area as our ads have appeared on over 16,000 results pages and routed over 565 people to our website,” Mandy Collins, chamber vice president of Economic Vitality, said.
Julie Whitesell, a local Realtor and the chamber’s vice chair of business and community development, called AikenHasIt.com “an exciting and creative resource that connects people to our members and allows those outside the community an opportunity to explore all Aiken offers.”
