In an open letter to the Greenville Chamber, Cindy Dorn, a community relationship manager at Elliott Davis Decosimo CPA firm, wrote about how special the chamber's IGNITE program is to her company.
IGNITE is an opportunity for business-minded individuals in the Greenville area to learn the ins and outs of the city, such as "strategic plans for economic development and an abundance of avenues for performing community service." Elliott Davis Decosimo has been headquartered in Greenville for 90 years, and over 100 of the firm's employers and interns have attended IGNITE. Dorn says the one-day annual event continues to educate members of her team.
"Opportunity Greenville provides a thorough overview of the inner workings of our city," Dorn said. "We want [our employees and interns] to know they haven’t chosen simply a job, but a firm that enjoys a solid partnership with the local business community."
Dorn says that the "innovative topics, combined with the caliber of speakers," is part of what makes the event extra informative. IGNITE includes speakers from various parts of the community, including community theaters, nonprofits, and government officials.
Dorn suggests that those who cannot make the five-week city introduction program, Opportunity Greenville, make it a priority to attend IGNITE.
