Rebecca Heiss will facilitate this year's diversity summit, LEVERAGING HUMAN DIFFERENCE: A Strategic Priority for Business Success & Community Prosperity, sponsored by the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.
The event will take place Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the TD Convention Center. Business and community leaders will discuss many topics and nine workshops will take place during the day. The event will wrap up with a LEVERAGE. LAUNCH. LEAD. networking reception.
Heiss, CEO and founder of Rebecca Heiss LLC, notes that women make up only 39 percent of the tech industry's boards of directors. She will discuss skill sets that women can implement in management roles and use to help boost the roles of women in business in general.
According to a press release from the Greenville Chamber, gender balance can lead to business growth.
Heiss has a doctorate in biology from the University of Memphis. Her research covers a topic she calls “biological ghosts,” which are subconscious behaviors that affect our lives.
A full list of speakers and an event schedule will be posted by the chamber.
