The Greenville Chamber of Commerce has welcomed new advocacy intern Zachary Heltsley to its team.

Heltsley is president of the Public Policy Organization (PPO) at Bob Jones University and is majoring in communications. PPO aims to encourage students to become involved in politics by talking about solutions rather than party differences.

“It is better, in my opinion, to be united as a community, and focus on helping others, than to cling to political affiliations that can be divisive due to the labels attached to them,” he said.

Heltsley is active in the community as well, serving as an executive board member on the Salvation Army’s young professionals' group, Echelon.

He is studying for the Law School Admissions Test and plans to attend law school after graduation.
