The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce is kicking off its 2017 Grassroots Tour, which will run through September and October.
The Grassroots Tour, which is part of the South Carolina Chamber Alliance Partnership that connects Chambers of Commerce with their respective communities, is an annual effort that the organization makes to understand the issues that businesses in the state are facing. The chamber will travel throughout South Carolina and speak to various companies about the state of their businesses.
The feedback that the organization receives will assist with devising the 2018 Competitiveness Agenda, which will contain the business community's goals for the following legislative session.
"We look forward to the Grassroots Tour each year because it gives us a chance to go around the state and hear directly from a diverse group of business owners about what impacts their bottom line," South Carolina Chamber President and CEO Ted Pitts said. "The feedback we hear during the tour is critical, and we use it to help shape our list of priorities for the upcoming legislative session. We thank our local Chamber partners for hosting us and look forward to hitting the road in September."
The tour will begin on Sept. 5 with the Summerville Chamber and end on Oct. 19 with the Great Sumter Chamber. The South Carolina Chamber will stop at 19 destinations throughout the tour.
