The Greenville Chamber of Commerce has accepted 57 individuals into the 44th edition of its Leadership Greenville program.

Leadership Greenville is a 10-month leadership development program that is designed to help participants become informed, dedicated leaders within Greenville County. The class offers an in-depth look at issues affecting the area as well. Since the program's inception in 1973, more than 2,000 participants have graduated. Many graduates have served in leadership roles on school boards, city and county councils and even in Congress.

Participants had to apply for acceptance by writing essays, submitting resumes and being involved in the community. This year's participants hail from various law firms, courts, physician practices, real-estate agencies and the school system.

Leadership Greenville participants must commit for the full 10 months of the program. Each class collectively chooses one or more projects to meet a need affecting the region. Class projects are selected after members submit proposals.

Bon Secours Health System is the presenting sponsor for this year's Leadership Greenville program.
