AmbioPharm Inc., a manufacturer of biopharmaceuticals, plans an $18 million expansion of its Aiken County operations and will add 100 new jobs within five years.
AmbioPharm has been in South Carolina for 10 years, hosting its headquarters and manufacturing plant in North Augusta Industrial Park. The company also has a facility in China, focusing on research and development and synthesis.
“AmbioPharm continues to be grateful for the support that it receives from the state of South Carolina," AmbioPharm chief Financial Officer Stephen Kiel said. "Without this support, our business could not grow at the accelerated pace that our customers have come to expect."
AmbioPharm will add two new buildings, or 50,000 square feet, to its site at 1024 Dittman Court in North Augusta. New equipment will also be added.
“Today, we’re proud to celebrate AmbioPharm Inc.’s continued success and growth in Aiken County," Gov. Henry McMaster said. "In South Carolina, our workforce has proven that it’s one of the best in the world, and the expansion of this innovative biopharmaceutical operation is a testament to that."
Hiring for new jobs will begin next year; those interested should visit the company website at www.ambiopharm.com for updates and information.
