Several members of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce leadership team are in Nashville for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) 2017 Convention.
The Charleston Metro Chamber is one of three finalists for the ACCE Chamber of the Year award in the Metro Chambers category; the other two are Chattanooga, Tennessee and Dayton, Ohio. This is the only such award in the country dedicated to recognizing the roles of chambers of commerce in their respective locales. The ACCE picks a Chamber of the Year based on the chamber's organizational strength and impact on important community factors such as education, business development and quality of life.
The Charleston Metro Chamber is also honored with two Awards of Excellence for the chamber's “That’s Why I’m a Member” video campaign and a State House Guide publication.
“Being recognized by ACCE for our outstanding marketing efforts as well as being named a Chamber of the Year finalist is a tremendous achievement,” Bryan Derreberry, Charleston Metro Chamber president and CEO, said. “These accolades showcase the passion, dedication and hard work of our Chamber staff, volunteer leaders and membership to advance the Charleston metro.”
Two chamber staffers are also being honored at the Nashville event. Monet McCarus, senior member account executive, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for the Million Dollar Circle, given for achieving more than $1 million in sales of chamber memberships over all. Justin Lee, senior member account executive, is also being honored for ranking 14th in the nation with nearly $155,000 in sales in one 12-month period.
