The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce has released this year's version of its Legislative Scorecard and posted the results online.
The chamber ranked state legislators as "Business Champions" earning a score of 100 percent and “Business Advocates” earning a score of at least 90 percent, based on whether they support business-friendly, pro-jobs practices as the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce views them. The chamber ranks the legislators based on how they vote on key business issues.
This year, the chamber focused on infrastructure and education initiatives, as well as agribusiness, rural job creation and narrowing the workforce-skills gap in South Carolina.
The scorecard breaks the rankings down into State Senate and House categories as well. To see the full scorecard, visit https://www.scchamber.net/publications/2017-year-review-and-scorecard.
