Bluffton Buck Island Road sidewalk project begins July 15

The new sidewalks will be installed from the intersection of Simmonsville Road and Buck Island Road to Kitty Road and will be 5 feet wide.

Bluffton expects to award the contract soon, since work is scheduled to begin July 15 and be completed before the end of August.

During construction, there may be brief times which traffic is reduced to one lane on Buck Island Road so construction equipment can enter and exit the project area. The contractor will meet be in touch with residents in the affected area to ensure they can access their driveways.

Those that have questions may contact Bluffton's director of engineering, Bryan McIlwee, at bmcilwee@ or by calling 843-746.7824.
