Mount Pleasant recently installed a piece of art called Golden Marsh from local artist Courtney Page as part of the Mayor's Office Art Program.
Golden Marsh depicts scenery from South Carolina and will be on display until August.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to meet and help promote so many of our vibrant local artists through this program,” Mayor Linda Page said. “Ms. Page’s beautiful marsh scene reminds me how lucky we are to live in such picturesque surroundings.”
Courtney Page enjoys painting acrylic landscapes in bold, bright colors and takes inspiration from the serenity of the Lowcountry area. She's currently working on a cloudscape series of paintings.
“I believe this program is a wonderful way to give exposure to local artists and to showcase the extensive artist community we have in Mount Pleasant,” she said.
Artists may submit photos of work to be considered for the art-display program. For more information on the program and complete application instructions, please write to special events manager Nicole Harvey at email@example.com.
