SkyView Aerial Solutions LLC had donated a drone to the Goose Creek Fire Department to use for fighting fires and land searches.

“It will be used for a variety of functions, including documenting incidents, training, pre-planning for major incidents, after action reviews, land searches and wildland fires,”  Fire Chief Steve Chapman said. “It is just another tool to do our job more effectively.”

Chapman said other city departments will use the drone for projects such as monitoring construction or photographing events.

SkyView CEO Tom Fernandez said the company enjoys giving back to the community. SkyView recently made a similar donation to Berkeley County as well.

“They have been friends of the Fire Department for a long time,” Chapman said. “We greatly appreciate this donation.”
