“On the recommendation of a friend back home, we took Uber from Charleston to spend the afternoon in Shem Creek. What a wonderful experience, that I am super glad we didn't miss! We walked on the walkways. We saw dolphins, pelicans, and snow egrets. We saw a man who had just caught a crab and I took an awesome picture of him holding it! Fishermen were intent on catching their fish, and tourists were intent on relaxing. A "you can't miss it" place...wish we had stayed for sunset!.” said Lauri P. in a review of the park.
The town recently opened a new USS Yorktown-inspired toddler playground at Memorial Waterfront Park and is adding shade structures, a security system and Wi-Fi.
