The Charleston County School District has added six new leaders to positions within the district.
Jeff Beckwith will serve as interim principal at North Charleston Elementary. He has served as principal at Williams Memorial Elementary School in Saint George for 10 years.
John Cobb has been named executive director on special assignment for Burns Elementary. Cobb spent the past year as executive director of elementary learning for the school and recently asked to provide more concentrated assistance to the school. He has also served as assistant principal at Colleton County’s Forest Circle Middle School and Springfield Elementary School, as well as principal at Northside Elementary School and Drayton Hall Elementary School.
Mary Reynolds will serve as principal of the Chicora School of Communications. She has been the principal at North Charleston Elementary for two years and previously served as Chicora's principal for four years. During her tenure, Chicora won numerous awards.
Lee Runyon has been named principal on special assignment for both the North Charleston and West Ashley Centers for Advanced Studies. He is and will remain serving as principal at West Ashley High through the next school year.
Chris Ryan becomes the interim principal for James Simons Elementary, where she has been the assistant principal for the past five years. She has served this school district for 12 years and served as a teacher in various states before that.
Quenetta White has been named principal of A.C. Corcoran Elementary. White has been the principal of James Simons Elementary for five years.
