South Carolina ranks 14th across the country for revenue from college athletics, according to data obtained from the U.S. Department of Education.


South Carolina ranks 14th across the country for revenue from college athletics, according to data obtained from the U.S. Department of Education.

According to data gathered by the Higher Education Tribune on revenue generated from college athletics from both public and private schools at all levels, with 32 schools, South Carolina sees approximately $443.1 million in revenue. The University of South Carolina brings in the most revenue in the state, with $122.3 million. If broken down per capita, South Carolina sees $92 per person in revenue.

Texas has the highest total revenue from college athletics at approximately $1.15 billion, while Washington, D.C., ranks highest per capita with $155 of revenue per person in the population.
