Charleston base commander Lyman wins Military Leadership Award

Col. Robert Lyman, commander of the 628th Air Base Wing and Joint Base in Charleston, has won a Military Leadership Award from the Association of Defense Communities.

The Charleston Metro Chamber nominated the colonel for the award.

The Defense Community Awards recognize achievements of those within the Department of Defense and military. Lyman and others winners will be honored during the 2017 Defense Communities National Summit June 19-21 in Washington, D.C.

The Military Leadership Award is for an individual showing outstanding leadership ability in any branch of the military. Nominees can be uniformed personnel or civilian employees who have worked in the defense community and have shown vision in the role.
