Cochise County will sponsor three workshops on diet, mental health and work topics June 27-28
The workshops will take place at Cochise College Downtown Center, 2600 Willcox Drive in Sierra Vista.
Registration is not required and all workshops are free. During the workshops, participants can provide input on health care access, safe play zones, sustainable jobs and options for healthier diets.
To that end, a session on jobs and a healthy economy is slated from 1-4:30 p.m. June 27; healthy eating, diabetes and obesity will be discussed from 8:30 a.m.-noon June 28; and mental health and substance abuse will be covered from 1-4:30 p.m. June 28.
The sessions are being offered based on results of its 2017 Community Health Assessment (CHA), using data to create a customized Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) for the jurisdiction.
The 2017 CHIP and its workshops are generated with the help of many local organizations including community centers, boards, schools and civic and health care groups.
