The newly-formed Charleston Leaders organization held its monthly Happy Hour last night at the Charlestowne Fermentory, a recently opened brewery and pub in the Avondale section of West Ashley.
Sources told Palmetto Business Daily that the gathering attracted more than 75 local business men and women for several hours of networking and beer tasting.
"We made some really cool connections and introductions yesterday," said the group's president, Larry Collett, in an email to members earlier today. "Charleston Leaders is about individuals coming together to make a positive impact in our community through interactivity and engagement amongst leaders. "
Opened in July 2016, the Charlestowne Fermentory houses a 15BBL brew system in the former Lyerly's Dry Cleaning building at 809 Savannah Highway in Charleston.
Charleston Leaders' May Happy Hour will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Skin Help Studio, located at 648 Long Point Rd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464.
The organization also will hold a breakfast on May 24, entitled, "Leadership Through Regional Growth & Change — a Council Person's Perspective." That event will examine the challenges faced by the continued growth of the Charleston metro region. It will feature Charleston County Councilman Brantley Moody, Charleston City Councilman William A. Moody, Jr., North Charleston City Councilman Ron Brinson and Mt. Pleasant Town Councilman Mark Smith.
