Area consumers can continue to purchase gently used goods at bargain prices at Greenville’s Salvation Army Family Store located at 203 Rutherford St.

According to the Greenville Chamber, improvements range from newly painted wall surfaces and updated flooring to brightly painted ductwork in the Salvation Army’s signature red color.

Local residents who contribute goods to Salvation Army sites for resale do a world of good when they choose to donate to Salvation Army stores. All donations go towards funding much-needed community programs. Not only do tax-deductible contributions of household goods, clothing, furniture and other items serve the needs of the immediate local population, but shoppers’ purchases also support what the Salvation Army considers “life saving programs.” Youth, musical education, community initiatives and housing all benefit from Family Store charity.

To schedule a pick-up in Greenville or Pickens counties, call 864-233-1627. For Oconee County, call 864-882-7450. Residents can also obtain more information at the Salvation Army Family Stores of Greenville, Pickens and Oconee Counties Facebook page.

“[Every] donation and every purchase makes a life-changing difference,” the organization stated on its website.
