Ian Scott has been named senior vice president of advocacy for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.
“The Charleston metro area is enjoying incredible momentum,” Mary Graham, the Chamber’s chief advancement officer, said. “To keep pushing forward, we must think and act as one region. With Ian on our advocacy team, we can expand our focus on local issues and better coordinate the business community’s voice with officials across the region."
Scott, formerly with the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, will be working closely with George Ramsey, the Charleston chamber's state lobbyist, and lead the chamber's initiatives in local government affairs.
He will also assist in grassroots activities and aid in economic prosperity for businesses in the Metro Charleston area, officials said.
