Riley picks up Buck Mickel Award at Greenville Chamber's annual meeting

Former U.S. Secretary of Education and former Gov. Dick Riley was awarded the 2016 Buck Mickel Leadership Award during the recent 128th annual meeting of the Greenville Chamber at TD Convention Center.

Other award recipients included Genesis Homes, which was awarded the Max Heller Neighborhood Improvement Award for its efforts in neighborhood improvment and empowerment. IG Global Sourcing earned the Minority Business of the Year Award.

Wil Brasington, executive director of the Clemson Alumni Association, earned the 2016 Chairman's Award and Kimberly Witherspoon, a shareholder in Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd's Greenville office, was the recipient of the Young Professional of the Year Award. 

Chamber President and CEO Carlos Phillips spoke at the event, and 2016 Board of Directors Chair David Lominack passed the gavel to 2017 Chair Brenda Thames.
