United Community Bank's Dixon Woodward is taking over banking operations in South Carolina.
“Dixon has displayed exemplary leadership in the Coastal region,” Lynn Harton, president and chief operating officer of United Community Banks Inc, said in a statement. “He possesses both the strategic vision and commitment to service that will be essential as United continues to grow our presence in South Carolina along with our other outstanding market leaders.”
Woodward brings more than 17 years of banking experience to the fold, having previously worked at Coastal Carolinas and Carolinas First. For his efforts, the Charleston Regional Business Journal named him as one of its “40 Under 40” in 2013. Woodward joined United Community Bank in 2015.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with our talented bankers across the state,” Woodward said. “United Community Bank is unique for both its employees and its customers, and I look forward to being a part of the growth story in South Carolina.”
United Community Bank is headquartered in Blairsville, Georgia, but has 32 locations in South Carolina. It recently completed a merger with Tidelands Bank in Mt. Pleasant and Palmetto Bank in Greenville.
