Men's apparel store M. Dumas & Sons is celebrating 100 years in Charleston with specials throughout the year and a showcase April 20 featuring a full century of fashion.
"We are so grateful and humbled by the support we've received from the Charleston community since my grandfather first opened the store in 1917," owner David Dumas said. "We're excited to host this year-long celebration of M. Dumas history and style as a way to thank our city and our loyal customers for the last 100 years."
M. Dumas & Sons began as a uniform shop for service jobs, eventually turning into a menswear store when the shop brought Levi jeans to Charleston in the 1940s. Over the decades, the store brought other major brands to Charleston, such as Woolrich, Sperry and Barbour. The store also underwent a major renovation in 2015.
Details about the celebrations each month will be posted as information becomes available. Check MDumasAndSons on Facebook or Instagram at mdumasandsons and look for the hashtag #Dumas100 for information about this special year.
