An affiliate of The Beach Company of Charleston has acquired 19.04 acres of land at the intersection of Highway 17A and Dorchester Road in Summerville.
The company plans to use the land, which is conveniently close to Boeing, the Joint Base and the future Volvo plant as well as many other employers, for a 267-unit multifamily rental community project called Summer Village. Construction is slated to begin in June.
Residents will gain access to high-end amenities including a full-service club room, resort-inspired pool, fire pit area, village green and commercial-quality fitness center.
“The property not only offers close proximity to major area employers, it is also located near popular retailers along Summerville’s iconic Main Street, as well as Dorchester and Orangeburg roads,” Alan McMahon, development manager for The Beach Company, said in a statement.
