Steinbauer to lead golf program at Haig Point

Mark Steinbauer, a top 100 teacher according to Golf Magazine for seven consecutive years, recently was named the new director of golf at Haig Point on Daufuskie Island.

Mark Steinbauer, a top 100 teacher according to Golf Magazine for seven consecutive years, recently was named the new director of golf at Haig Point on Daufuskie Island.

Steinbauer brings more than 30 years of experience to the community, including holding the PGA of America Professional Standing: Master Professional-Teaching designation. Additionally, he is an adjunct faculty member for PGA of America Department of Education.

"We are thrilled to have Mark on board and honored to enhance our leadership team with his skillset and experience,"  Haig Point CEO Doug Egly said.

Haig Point features a Rees Jones-designed course that has appeared in Golf Digest as one of America's 100 Greatest Courses and Best in State. The signature course features 20 holes with two different routings, seven of which have ocean views.
